Architecture: Texas A&M Kyle Field Tour
While at the COAA (Construction and Owners Association of America) conference, we went on a tour of the new Kyle Field in College Station, Texas! It’s literally the stadium of all stadiums! Here are a few details I wrote down about this $483 million dollar renovation:
Program Manager: Project Control, PC Sports Division
Architect: Populous
Contractor: Manhattan-Vaughn
Opening: September 12, 2015
Groundbreaking: November 9, 2013
Total Gross Square Footage: 1,325,150 SF
Stadium Capacity: 102,733 (previously 82,589; total of 31,000 total reserved for students)
Site: 36 Acres
If you haven’t been to Kyle Field, it’s really worth it to take a tour. My favorite part was the suits section. Each suite has a portrait of the suit owners on the outside of the door with huge chandeliers and a circular staircase!
Check out some photos I took while on the tour. Thanks for the invite COAA!
Anyone else completely obsessed with architecture and construction? What’s the best college stadium you’ve been to?
Xoxo,
